Kolkata, 17th September, 2016 - A CSR Step by RICE in association with Faizan-e-Ashraf Welfare Association supported by Janab Firhad Hakim-Minister-in-charge M.A. & U.D., Government of West Bengal.
RICE Group, in its continuous drive to provide basic and skill-based education to the marginalized sections of the society, always intends to collaborate with government and non-government organizations with a mission to address the concern of social inequality in the sphere of education. The Group for the third consecutive year extended its professional support to Faizan-e-Ashraf Welfare Association with a similar purpose. As part of this initiative a group of 100 shortlisted Graduate students (50 boys+50 girls) nominated under this scheme based on merit test will receive 100% scholarship each to pursue professional job (state & central government) preparation courses of RICE.

The initiative, which will directly impact the employability factor positively, is being supported by Janab Firhad Hakim-Minister-in-charge M.A. & U.D., Government of West Bengal. The sponsorship by RICE Group, which is nearly worth INR 70 Lakh, was finalized on 17th September, 2016 at Faizan-E-Ashraf-Kolkata in the presence of Mr. Surojit Biswas-Group President, RICE, Ms. Sangeeta Sen-AVP (Sales & Marketing), RICE and the President of Faizan-e-Ashraf Welfare Association.
To quote Mr. Biswas, ‘the selected students need to bring this opportunity to optimum use which will help them not just to impact their own community/society but will also help uplift the economy of the country’. Ms. Sen sounded very optimistic about the initiative which 10 years down the line has a vision and capacity to guarantee that maximum number of state and central government employees are RICE alumni. The landmark step aims to nurture and develop a social system that offers a level playing field to all students across sections and enable them to meet the competitive demands of the day.

The scheme includes imparting special training & coaching to these selected candidates at RICE Head Office for the entire course session in addition to providing them with all the study materials needed. These students, just like the regular ones, will receive tutorial support for their chosen areas, e.g. General Combined, WBCS, TET or any other field which RICE has expertise in. Along with regular classes, they will also need to appear for Class, Monthly and Mock Tests which are a part of the RICE curriculum. The previous 2 years under this scheme saw 20% students cracking administrative exams while 60% clearing TET in addition to achievement in other areas. RICE is quite optimistic about the present selected batch as well where each one with a little guidance and support can achieve the target.
