The ADAMAS WORLD organized a week-long fun-packed trip to Himachal Pradesh starting from 21st October to 28th Oct, 2016 for the winners of AWS (Adamas World Summit), Session-1. AWS that was ideated and introduced by RICE Group to provide a common platform for academicians to share views and initiatives on education, witnessed a few participants from the last session winning a family holiday pack as a surprise gift, wholly sponsored by the Group.
The journey to the Himalayan countryside started on the 21st October, 2016 from Kolkata with its first stopover in New Delhi had 45 teachers & principals and 4 senior members of the RICE Group as jetsetters. The 390-kilometers road trip from New Delhi to Shimla began on the 2nd day of the journey with significant places like Panipat, Kurukhetra, Chandigarh en-route. The far-stretched road journey reached its destination late at night at Hotel Rajeet in Shimla where a sumptuous dinner was awaiting all the slightly weary tourists, quelling their exhaustion completely.
The next morning the entire team set for a trip to local Shimla and surrounding areas that included some well-known sights, orchards and the celebrated Shimla Mall which owes its historical importance to the British since the colonial times. Shimla that abounds in natural bounty with its green hills and snow-capped mountains offered the visitors a panoramic view of the south-western Himalayan ranges.
The day-4 gradually unfolded itself with the first outing to the lush green valley of Manali followed by an excursion to Kullu where the team had a thrilling experience of river-rafting. The next entire day was packed for local Manali sightseeing where everyone in the group visited places of interest including Hidimba, Gototkoch, Siva temple, Club House, Ashram of Vashishta Muni and monastery. The day ended with some meaningful sessions that took place between RICE officials and the rest of the group where new initiatives by RICE and its objectives were shared with them in addition to conducting a quiz contest and extempore session which saw some winners bagging surprise gifts. The day-6 of the journey was scheduled for Rohtang Pass from Manali where everyone was greeted with a temperature below freezing point. It was time now for a return journey passing through Manali and Kullu where the team spent some valuable time in shopping for items and goodies that would serve as memories of the trip.
