  • Q: What is the minimum educational qualification for Govt. Service?

    Ans: Passing the 10th standard Board Examination.

  • Q: What is the minimum age to get a Govt. Service?

    Ans: 18 years.

  • Q: Is there any marks bar to apply for a Govt. Service?

    Ans: No. There is no marks bar for any service at present.

  • Q: Is it necessary to be meritorious to get a Govt. Service?

    Ans: No. Smart preparation & hard work can gift you a Govt. Service.

  • Q: Is the fluency in speaking English required?

    Ans: No. A candidate just has to know the fundamentals of English language.

  • Q: Is computer learning mandatory?

    Ans: Yes. For most of the posts basic knowledge in computer application is required.

  • Q: What are the subjects examined for the Govt. Services?

    Ans: For most of the examinations, the syllabus is more or less same. A candidate has to prepare mainly four subjects- Mathematics, English, General Intelligence and General Knowledge. For some of the examinations the preparation in Data Analysis, Data Interpretation, Computer knowledge and Banking Awareness is required.

  • Q: Is it necessary to be strong in Mathematics in School/College level?

    Ans: No. Applying smart techniques & rigorous practice on the syllabus will help to score high in the examinations.

  • Q: Are the candidates interviewed for the service?

    Ans: Interview always plays a vital role in the recruitment process. But there are many posts for which there is no interview process. Candidates are directly recruited after qualifying in the written test.

  • Q: What is the educational qualification required to be a Govt. officer?

    Ans: Graduate in any stream from any UGC recognized University (Apart from some technical/Finance/Audit & Accounts related posts).

  • Q: What are the main examinations for the recruitment of officers in Govt. of West Bengal?

    Ans: WBCS, PSC Miscellaneous, PSC Audit & Accounts etc.

  • Q: What are the main examinations for the recruitment of officers in Govt. of India?

    Ans: IAS, IPS, Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level, Bank PO etc.

  • Q: How can a candidate become a Police officer?

    Ans: Govt. of West Bengal recruits its higher level Police officers through WBCS (Group-B) & two different examinations are conducted for the recruitment of SI/Sergeants in WBP and Kolkata Police respectively. Govt. of India recruits the higher level officers through IPS examination and the SI in Central Armed Police Forces are recruited by the Staff Selection Commission. Female candidates can also take this opportunity to be a Lady Police officer.

  • Q: How long does it take to get completely prepared to crack the examinations?

    Ans: The preparation phase is not same for all. Generally a preparation of 1.5 year can take the candidate to the perfection level required. But it has also been happened that some candidates get job after 3-4 months of preparation.

  • Q: How many recruitment examinations are conducted in a year?

    Ans: A candidate can appear in at least 30 different examinations conducted by various recruitment authorities of Central & State Govt.

  • Q: Can the Bengali medium background students apply for Central Govt. Services?

    Ans: Medium of learning or language is not a barrier for Central Govt. Services.

  • Q: Is Master Degree necessary for Govt. Services?

    Ans: Apart from the teachership/lecturership in Schools/Colleges, Master Degree doesnít play any role.

  • Q: Can the Hindi speaking or Hindi studied candidates apply for West Bengal State Govt. Services?

    Ans: Yes. Of course they can apply for any post of Govt. of West Bengal.

  • Q: Is B.Com/M.Com Degree necessary for Banking jobs?

    Ans: No. Graduate in any stream/subject can apply for Banking jobs.
